A Quick Introduction

Right next door to TBEMC is a piece of land...it looked like this in early Summer:
A large portion of the old nursery school playground
A side view from the parking lot
Another side view shot

This piece of land is the future site of the TBEMC Community Garden!!!
Wouldn't it be great to turn that piece of land into something like this!!!

We hope to create a living, working, functional, and beautiful space that will:

Feed the community
Educate the community
Unite our community
Become a source of pride for our community
There are a number of steps involved in creating a community garden. The first few steps include:
  • Let everyone know about the garden!
  • Let everyone know we need volunteers for each of the initial steps
  • Sell the playground equipment in the space to both clear space and raise money for construction materials
  • Remove all of the weeds and plants currently growing in the space using safe and responsible methods
  • Design the vegetable, herb, bulb, and perennial gardens
  • Work with local retailers to secure donations of plants, organic soil, mulch, and wood to construct the beds.
  • Construct the garden beds
  • Get planting!

This blog will be the primary way to communicate what is going on in the garden.  Stay tuned for our next blog post:
